  the owner of sylvia's restaurant in harlem has died.

  she was very famous for her restaurant.

  the last time i was in new york, i had the treat of eating food from there through a recommendation of one of the locals.

  last month i heard a talk from a c.o.

  he mentioned that the door to door service will come to an end.

  he said that jehovah will tell us to stop it, eventually.

  about an hour ago the first criminal conviction of clergy involved in child abuse cover-up occured!

  considering the power of the the catholic church, and the percentage of catholics on the jury this is incredible!!!!!

  how long do you think it will be before before elders and bethelites among jehovahs's witnesses are convicted of criminal conspiracy with no jehovah's witnesses in the jury pool ?

  It would seem obvious that any elder who knowingly and willfully conceals a pedophile's identity from Caesar, and which peodophile goes on to repeat his crimes after such concealment, is liable to prosecution.

  do you think in view that they now have wt production videos.. (a costly endevour) that they might in addition to the www, local and literature donation boxes start a wt video productions box with special guilt laid on parents with small children to donate ?.

  it does seem to be all about the money so it wouldn't suprise me...how about you.

  DVD production is a lot cheaper than mass printings of bound books (which they seem to have abandoned) ; and since they're mostly targeted to a specific readership (JWs), sales of a certain number are calculable -- and virtually guaranteed.

  i posted this on another thread and am pasting it here to start a new one because i would be interested in getting others' thoughts on it.. there has been a downward spiral in the quality of the written publications since the death of fred franz in december 1992. whatever else can be said about franz, the man did have some education and his writing was of good quality.

  others in the writing department also had some skill and command of language that gave cogency to their work.

  but since franz's death, a huge leadership vacuum has opened in the wts.
